Zoning Advocacy at Urban Planning Committee
On June 3, representatives from our league spoke at City Council’s Urban Planning Committee meeting about adjustments to the new Zoning Bylaw. Over the past year, we’ve heard concerns about how zoning changes affect neighbourhood character, livability, and development impacts. WPCL has been working to bring constructive, balanced suggestions forward.
We’re pleased to share that two of our recommendations were supported:
- Reducing the number of side entrances on interior lot row houses—from 4 to 2—will move forward to a June 30 public hearing.
- Re-orienting side entrances to face public walkways or alleys will be included in a future omnibus amendment.
Next step: Watch for the June 30 hearing and consider adding your voice. Questions or ideas? Reach out —we’d love to hear from you.
