Composting Basics with A Master Composter and the The City of Edmonton
Worms, Bins, and Banana Peels: Composting Fun in Windsor Park!
Who knew composting could be fun?
We recently hosted an engaging evening at the Windsor Park Community Hall, where a City of Edmonton Master Composter joined us to talk all things rotting. (In the best way, of course.)
With honour and a whole lot of helpful tips, our composting expert broke it down: what goes in the bin, what definitely doesn’t (sorry, meat lovers), and how to keep your compost smelling earthy – not stinky. There were lots of great questions from curious neighbours and more than a few ‘aha’ moments!
We also learned how something as simple as composting food scraps and yard waste can make a big impact. It keeps waste out of the landfill, cuts down on greenhouse gas emissions, and gives your garden soil a major upgrade. Win-win-win!

Big thanks to everyone who came out—and to our fantastic guest speaker for making composting feel exciting and totally doable. Here’s to a greener, cleaner Windsor Park… one banana peel at a time!
